Hello everyone! This is my first LARP event, and I must say I am looking forward to it!My character is Divum Aequitas, he is a human cleric. From what I understand new clerics begin as petitioners. In my character's background, he devotes himself to Negoro. My question is that can my background cause my cleric to begin already following a deity? Or do I still start as a petitioner but my character already knows who he wants to worship but just needs a symbol of that deity?

Hey welcome aboard your in for a great weekend! To answer your question you will have to start as a practitioner but your character can already have his mind set on which god or goddess he wants to follow. Also you can come into game with a Negoro holy symbol if you want. It's still recommend that you talk to other clerics in game to find out about the other gods since the website only gives you a brief idea of what the gods are all about. Once you see and learn things in game about the other gods it could possibly change your mind.Hope that helps!

Xandis gives good advice here. All clerics begin as petitioners, and only after learning more about your chosen god and undergoing a dedication ceremony of some type (the different religions differ in what is done) are you then "dedicated" to that diety.  This allows you to learn about the differerent gods before committing.  Often someone will come to game with one idea but after some time, change their minds.  This allows that to happen.

Heya, welcome! It can be a lot of fun asking around about the different gods/goddesses anyway, and gives you an excuse to talk to various other clerics who are devoted to the various faiths. Looking forward to seeing you at the event, if you have any other questions feel free to ask.-Victor
