As part of our ongoing efforts to make Adraveth as close to a living, breathing world as possible, we've added functionality to the forums which allows players of specific rank and standing within the local government to tear down posts from the in-game boards. Currently, this option is only enabled for the Magistrate and full, non-probationary members of the town guard. However, we wanted to take a moment to outline a few specifics regarding how the whole thing works from an out-of-game perspective:
- These players DO NOT have the ability to actually modify the contents of anyone's post to their own liking, as they DO NOT have actual moderation privileges on the in-game boards. This is a custom function that we wrote ourselves for this specific in-game purpose; all they do is click a button, confirm they want to tear down the post, and it automatically updates the post's text to read "this post has been torn down by <name>". Furthermore, every time the function is invoked, all of that user's relevant information is logged so as to prevent any funny business.
- If you feel that players are abusing this function out of in-game bias or for some other reason, remember that in addition to the town Bailiff, these players have in-game superiors to whom they must answer. NPCs watch the boards just as often as players do, and we're only a courier's letter away (most of the time, at least).
- Regarding in-game abuse for out-of-game reasons, it will not be tolerated. At all. End of story.
